This class focuses on basic first aid skills
for the pediatric population. Participants will learn CPR, assessment of

This class covers safety, disaster

This twelve hour, four day class
is designed for those who have no EKG experience and wish to learn how to read
a monitor. Upon completion of this class, the student will be able to interpret
an EKG strip, identify the basic cardiac rhythms and distinguish the lethal
arrhythmias. This class will help those with no EKG experience to prepare for
Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

This one day class is intended
for the RN who wishes to become familiar with advanced vascular access devices.
The workshop will highlight the care, maintenance, means of infusion and blood
sampling from such devices as PICC lines and Mediports. Catheter complications,
including the use of Urokinase will be presented. A hands on skill lab will
conclude the workshop.

This class will serve as an update for the
RN who wishes to renew IV skills as well as a basic course for the new graduate.
Current techniques for successfully starting peripheral IV's will be presented,
as well as an overview of the care and maintenance of central lines. A skill
lab for insertion of the butterfly needle and the over the needle catheter will
be provided.

provide the participant with information / strategies for preventing

A 40-hour course designed
for RCFE administrators, owners, operators and anyone pursuing RCFE licensure.
The program follows the requirements of the Department of Social Services, Health
and Welfare and Community Care Licensing Division.
Materials include current Title 22

administrator, business person and registered nurses experienced in the care of
the elderly.
